Angle Gallery Amsterdam presents a unique exhibition of selected architectural images and inspirational books from the private collection of architect and gallerist Maurice van Bakel. White volumes in different dimensions create a stylish, abstract landscape, in which visitors can discover some rare and special items devoted to architecture, design, art, photography and fashion. The rear of the gallery space, which overlooks a canal, has been transformed into the ‘Reading Room’, a space featuring vintage Ilmari Tapiovaara seating placed on an Persian rug. Surrounded by more than 3,000 books, Maurice van Bakel has been working on projects in the field of architecture, design and events in this location for the past 15 years. With this and future exhibitions, he hopes to shed light on his creative interests and inspirations, so that clients and associates can share his passion for the intrinsic qualities of life and nature.
