Tijdens de lente-equinox waarin dag en nacht precies even lang zijn, presenteert Tamar Frank haar oeuvre-publicatie Lightspace 20 years Tamar Frank. U kunt deze presentatie bijwonen tijdens de opening van haar solotentoonstelling Equinox.
Het werk van Tamar Frank gaat over licht en ruimte. Sinds haar afstuderen in 1997 heeft zij zich ontwikkeld als kunstenaar en talloze werken gemaakt op locatie. Veel van haar lichtinstallaties hadden een tijdelijk bestaan. Nu, twintig jaar later, komen alle werken terug in een boek. Dat is meer dan alleen een oeuvre-overzicht: in het hart bevindt zich een glow in the dark kunstwerk dat zich openbaart in het donker.
De tentoonstelling en het boek vullen elkaar aan en geven inzicht in het werk en de werkwijze van Tamar Frank. Een handgeschreven tekst over haar werk van de Nederlandse kunstenaar JCJ Vanderheyden wordt tentoongesteld evenals de multiple In Lucem. Dit is een wandpaneel dat zij in een oplage van 20 exemplaren ter ere van haar jubileum ontwikkelde (waarvan nog enkele exemplaren verkrijgbaar). Ook zullen er voor het eerst prints van haar werk in groot formaat tentoongesteld worden. Foto’s die 20 jaar lang slechts documentatiemateriaal waren, krijgen een nieuw bestaan als zelfstandige kunstwerken.

Tamar Frank’s work is about light and space. Since her graduation in 1997 she has developed as an artist producing numerous site-specific works. Many of her light installations only had a temporary existence. Now twenty years later all her works are brought together in a book. This is more than just a retrospective: in the heart of the book you can find a glow in the dark artwork which reveals itself in darkness.
The exhibition and book complement each other and give insight in Tamar Frank’s work and working methods. A hand-written text about her work written by the Dutch artist JCJ Vanderheyden will be exhibited together with the multiple In Lucem. This is a wall panel that she developed for her anniversary in a series of 20 pieces. In the solo exhibition EquinoxTamar Frank will also present large scale prints of her work for the first time. Photos which for 20 years have only served as documentation are given new life as independent artworks.
